In that respect, it is similar in effect to the stasis ritual, though it has an advantage in being far more difficult to escape from. Has some application in splitting NPCs up without making them leave the room, but probably more useful as a PK defence. Priests are able to perform the ritual upon themselves, and interact with all the interesting and amusing NPCs within.

They remain in the corridors until they are able to make their way to an exit, or until the halls fade away on their own (this can take a fairly long time, such as around forty-five minutes, but npcs seem to always solve the maze instead of waiting for it to disappear). If the ritual is used on an npc, they will wait a little while before attempting to solve the maze (reportedly, this is skill-based in some fashion).  They'll then go around the maze until they find the exit.  Since the exit might be anywhere in the maze--in a far corner from where they started, or one room away--the amount of time the npc is actually in the maze can vary greatly.
