Tested find corpse, gp change was from 377 to 353 over period of rit, timing was 8 seconds, my gp regen rate is 4gp / secs.

Math:

gp loss = 377 - 353 = 24 gp.

gp regen in 8 secs = 8 [secs] * 4 [gp / 2-sec regen] / 2 = 16 gp.

Actual gp cost = gp loss + gp regen over period = 24 + 16 = 40 gp.
