Hmm, noticing some discrepancies between observed happenings and recorded data:

bestow detect alignment into handle of cane
You find it much more difficult to bestow detect alignment because bestowing a ritual takes 
extra concentration.  However, this is partially mitigated by the fact that you have chosen 
a receptacle which has good affinity with the ritual, you are in an area considered holy and 
you feel uplifted by the rain.
You recite the psalm of acquisition.
You speak the prayer of divination.
You chant a psalm of acquirement into the wooden cane.
The wooden cane resonates briefly as its handle becomes imbued with the ritual detect alignment.
bestow find corpse into hook of cane
You cannot bestow find corpse because it is too powerful to be supported by the ritual in the handle.

scour rituals from wooden cane
You meditate upon the holiness of Pishe as you attempt to cleanse the wooden cane of its imbued power.
The wooden cane pulses as the ritual detect alignment leaves it.
