Research and Ideas/Unquiet Spirit XP Leech by Holister

I decided to do some research on how much exp unquiet spirit really leeches. My research was done in a similar vein to how Scouter did his. I killed five farmers, then went out into the savannah and killed ten creatures to offset the influence of repeated killing (same as what Scouter did). I then waited 30 minutes and repeated the process. After doing this twice, I summoned a spectre and did the same test.

So, I tried this on 10 farmers without aid, and on 10 farmers with aid (i.e. unquiet spirit.)

Standard Fighting (without a spectre)

average death exp average bury exp total exp total stolen
121 100% 1288.6 100% 1409.6 100% 0%

Fighting with a spectre

average death exp average bury exp total exp total stolen
186.9 154% 1092.3 85% 1259.2 91% 9%

The results of my research show that unquiet spirit only leeches about 9% of exp gained.

With Companions

I decided to do some research on how much exp unquiet spirit leeches when in a group with another player. Whether the exp was leeched from all players evenly or just the performer or something else. I followed the method above with the only difference being that Paff was in a group with me, assisting and recording the data of her kills and the buries aswell.

Holister (with Paff)

average death exp average bury exp total exp total stolen
95.4 100% 1001.2 100% 1096.6 100% 0%

Paff (with Holister)

average death exp average bury exp total exp total stolen
104.1 100% 906.9 100% 1001.1 100% 0%

Holister (with spectre and Paff)

average death exp average bury exp total exp total stolen
152.4 160% 942.7 94.1% 1095.1 99.9% .1%

Paff (with spectre and Holister)

average death exp average bury exp total exp total stolen
120.6 115.9% 826.1 91.9% 946.7 94.6% 5.4%

Analysis:

The total xp stolen from me was insignificant however for Paff it was a little bit higher. The total xp stolen is less than solo'ing.

Evaluation:

This seems like great news for anyone wanting to use unquiet spirit in a group as the xp loss is pretty minimal. The only real obvious conundrum is why the xp stolen is greater in Paff's xp results.

Three explanations for this spring to mind. The spectre may drain more xp from group members than the performer of the ritual. Or possibly the faith skills of the various groupmates may factor into the amount xp stolen. Or the person initiating the combat may have little or no xp stolen while assisting groupmates suffer a greater xp loss. Also with both myself and a spectre attacking a farmer, Paff had little time to join in and attack the target herself so this may have caused additional problems for the test.

Many thanks to Paff for her help with this experiment.
